Spinal Decompression Therapy and How it Can Help You
If you’ve ever experienced a herniated disc, pinched nerve, or suffered from degenerative disc disease, you know just how debilitating back or neck pain can be. In fact, more than 31 million Americans experience pain in their lower back at any given time. However, when seeking treatment, they usually only find temporary relief from symptoms when what’s really needed is long-term healing.
Spinal decompression is a non-surgical, safe, affordable, and extremely effective modality to help relieve pain brought on by bulging, degenerating, or herniated discs. It can also be used for the pain management and treatment of various causes of sciatica, worn joints, and injured or diseased nerve roots. It’s not just for the low back, either—we are able to achieve the same results with the neck, as well.
In our office, our decompression tables, or “the rack”, as some patients like to call it, have many capabilities. Not only can we achieve pain relief as described above, but we can also correct misalignment in the spine by using a pulley system to guide your spine in the direction it needs to go.
The therapy itself works by stretching the spine, using a motorized table, in order to create space within the disc to allow disc fluid to move back into place. Therefore, creating an environment where the disc can receive necessary nutrients to heal quickly and effectively. Our ultimate goal, in using decompression therapy, healing at the source of your chronic pain.
